29/05/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 24 May, the European Commission approved Slovakian State aid to the company NFŠ a.s. to build the national football stadium in Bratislava. The aid comes to a total of €35.96 million, made up of €27.2 million in direct subsidies, which will cover some of the real investment costs. The institution found that the measure will help to promote sport and culture, that it will preserve competition on the single market and that it was proportionate in that it “does not exceed the financing deficit”. The Commission therefore concluded that the measure was compliant with EU rules on State aid. (LT)
