29/05/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 29 May, the European Commission approved a Swedish State aid plan for €30 million to build a commercial airport in Sälen, in the west of the country. The institution, which finds that the aid will not distort competition, believes the airport in question will help to improve connections in the mountainous regions of Scandinavia. The total cost of the work will be more than €30 million, but the additional investment costs will be provided by private investors. The Commission concluded that the aid was compatible with EU rules on State aid, with particular reference to the guidelines of 2014 on State aid to airports and airlines. (LT)
