2017 OECD Week on Bridging Divides

The central focus of the 2017 OECD Week (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development in Europe), which is to be held in Paris from 6 to 9 June, will be on "Bridging Divides" – at a time when increasing populism and nationalism, the rapid pace of technological development, and the continued effects of the crisis are having a disruptive impact on societies and economies.

The ministerial meeting of the OECD Council will take place at the OECD headquarters on 7 and 8 June, under the chairmanship of Denmark (which will be represented by its Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and its Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen).  An OECD/G20 seminar on trade and an informal meeting of trade ministers are planned on the sidelines of this meeting.

The OECD ministerial Council will be preceded by the OECD Forum on 6 and 7 June, which will include debates organised around three cross-cutting issues – inclusive growth, digital transformation and trust.

On 7 June, OECD Secretary General José Ángel Gurría will present the organisation's latest economic outlook.

On the sidelines of the OECD ministerial meeting, over 60 countries will sign the multilateral convention on implementing measures relating to tax conventions aimed at preventing base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS).  (Original version in French by Emmanuel Hagry)
