09/05/2017 (Agence Europe) – Morocco and the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed a €34 million loan agreement in Rabat on Monday 8 May for sanitation projects, a press release from the European Delegation in the Moroccan capital states. The agreement is for co-financing mobilised by the National Office for Electricity and Water (ONEE) to fund the second phase of Morocco's "National liquid sanitation programme". The programme includes the "development of water treatment plants" and the "implementation of related technical assistance". Two other loan agreements have been signed for a total of €54 million – with the French Development Agency (AFD), which is the lead partner, for €34 million, and with Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), for €20 million, the press release, published the same day, states.
