During his visit to Buenos Aires on Monday 8 May, Italy's President Sergio Mattarella underlined, together with Argentina's President Mauricio Macri, the importance of a trade agreement between the EU and the Mercosur bloc (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay – Venezuela not taking part in the talks). Macri also underlined Argentina's determination to conclude a wide-ranging agreement.
