20/04/2017 (Agence Europe) – Dimitris Tzanakopoulos, a spokesman for the Greek government, says that Greece and its international lenders are considering a ‘reduced’ financial contribution from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over a one-year period that would end at the same time as the third Greek bailout, in other words in August 2018, reported Greek media on Thursday 20 April. On the fringes of the spring summits of the IMF and World Bank on 20 and 21 April, the parties may decide to send the lenders’ head of mission back to Athens rapidly to finalise the package of reforms that the government will apply post-2018 in order to meet the post-bailout budget trajectory (see EUROPE 11764).
