13/03/2017 (Agence Europe) – In a joint report on the EU-Moldova Association Agenda, which has been in its implementation phase since November 2014, the European Commission and the European External Action Service stated that Moldova still needed to make further efforts in its reforms, particularly with regard to improving the rule of law and the business environment. The Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy, Johannes Hahn, explained in a press release that, “implementation of the association agreement by Moldova has already demonstrated its first positive results but it needs to go further”. Revision of the association agreement will be adopted in the first half of 2017 for the 2017-19 period. This will provide the priority short term and medium-term reforms underpinned by new multiannual programming. The EU-Moldova Association Council will also take place on 31 March next. (CG)
