Curaçao and Solomon Islands back in line on illegal fishing

The European Commission announced on Wednesday 22 February that it had lifted the “yellow cards” on Curaçao and the Solomon Islands after both countries took the necessary measures to tackle illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Fisheries Commissioner Karmenu Vella said: “This is a good day for Curaçao and Solomon Islands, and good news for sustainable fisheries around the globe”.
