21/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Tuesday 21 February that it had registered the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) West Wales coracle-caught salmon – salmon caught using the ancient Welsh traditional method of coracle fishing. The West Wales coracle-caught salmon is bright silver in colour, with a dark blue back and black spots predominantly located above the lateral line. The salmon fishing seasons differ according to which of the three West Wales rivers (Tywi, Teifi and Taf) is being fished. (LC)
