08/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – On 15 February, during the meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representative to the EU (COREPER I), the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU is expected to present a progress report on the regulation for the approval and monitoring of the motor-vehicle and trailers market. The Maltese Presidency is exclusively responsible for drafting the report and not the Council. It is expected to reconstruct the content of the exchanges that took place at a level of the Council working party on technical harmonisation – motor vehicles level. The Presidency will present its report to the ministers responsible during the Competitiveness Council on 20 February, a date that Germany and some Eastern European member states believe is too soon (see EUROPE 11719).
