01/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament and the Council of the EU have added a further meeting on 8 February to finalise the inter-institutional agreement on the regulation on a structural reform support programme (SRSP) for the period from 2017 to 2020. The agreement in principle reached at the last meeting on 31 January still needs to be fine-tuned, according to a source. A number of points have been clarified, including the principle of partnership between the local, regional and national levels in the structural reforms, the transparency of the process before and after implementation of the reforms and the balance between delegated acts and implementing acts for the implementation of annual work programmes. The support programme will have a budget of €142.8 million for the 2017-2020 period. (PH)
