25/01/2017 (Agence Europe) – The Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy announced on Tuesday 24 January that the 3rd meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor advisory council would take place in Baku in 23 February. Invitations have been sent to energy ministers of the project member countries (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Italy, Greece, Albania and Bulgaria), European Commission Vice-President with responsibility for the Energy Union, Maros Sefcovic, heads of international financial organisations and representatives of other interested countries. The Southern Gas Corridor project plans to carry gas from the Shah Deniz-2 field in Azerbaijan to the European market via Georgia and Turkey. The Corridor consists of three linked pipelines: the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) which will run from the Shah Deniz-2 field across Azerbaijan and Georgia to the Turkish border; the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) across Turkey; and the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) which will take gas from Turkey through Greece and Albania into Italy.
