Reform of banking sector, VAT, economic governance and EU budget on agenda

On Friday 27 January, the European finance ministers will take stock of the reform of the banking sector, currently being negotiated at the Basel Committee, and will discuss the proposal for a temporary reverse-charge VAT system. They will adopt conclusions on economic governance and hear a presentation of the report by the 'Monti' group on the own resources of the EU.
