23/01/2017 (Agence Europe) – On 16 January, José Manuel Garcia Collantes from Spain, became the new President of the Council of the Notaries of the European Union (CNUE). Mr Garcia Collantes is a Madrid-based notary and takes over from his Italian counterpart, Paolo Pasqualis. A CNUE press release explains that Mr García Collantes’s mandate will be exercised over the course of 2017 and seeks to guide the work of the CNUE on the following dossiers: digitalisation of corporate law; the fight against money laundering; the future application of two new European regulations on matrimonial systems and registered partnerships; the development and promotion of notarial mediation in Europe and digital notarial collaboration platforms such as the European Notarial Network and EUFides.
