19/12/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 19 December, the European Commission approved the prolongation of the Polish bank guarantee scheme until 30 June 2017. This prolongation allows the Commission to monitor the development of Polish banks in crisis and to adapt conditions accordingly. Since this system was set in place for Poland in September 2009, only the pricing conditions have been modified, to bring them into line with requirements under state aid rules for banks in crisis, which were laid down by the Commission in 2011. The Polish bank guarantee scheme was most recently prolonged in July 2016. (TR)
