08/12/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 8 December, the Council of the EU formally approved the one-year postponement – from January 2017 to January 2018 – of the entry into force of the 'Priips' regulation (1286/14) on the pre-contractual information that retail investors may use to compare certain financial products (see EUROPE 11664). This postponement will give the European legislator time to finalise implementing measures concerning the key information document (KID) designed to allow consumers to make an enlightened choice in their investments, the first version of which was rejected by the European Parliament in September (see EUROPE 11624).
