05/12/2016 (Agence Europe) – In a press release a few days after the “Tunisia 2020” investment conference (see EUROPE 11679) and the visit to Brussels of the Tunisian Head of State, Benji Caid Essebsi (see EUROPE 11681), the European Commission announced an aid package to Tunisia on Monday 5 December, worth €213.5 million “for reforms and funding social infrastructure”. The support package will consist of four programmes: 1) The ‘Programme to support the modernisation of public administration and public undertakings, in support of the 2016-2020 Development Plan' (€73.5 million); 2) The ‘Programme of support for education, mobility, research and innovation' (€60 million); 3) The ‘Pilot initiative on integrated local development' (€60 million) and 4) The ‘Programme to support the health sector in Tunisia' (€20 million).
