10/11/2016 (Agence Europe) – The vote at the European Parliament’s transport and tourism committee on Thursday 10 November has been postponed until 5 December due to delays in lodging and examining amendments. In a committee discussion about the amendments on Wednesday 9 November, most of the MEPs present (bar from the GUE/NGL Group) endorsed the report and compromises put forward by the Parliament’s rapporteur, Pavel Telička. Two points remain to be clarified – social aspects in the aviation sector (highlighted mostly by the S&D Group) and the idea mooted by Telička of establishing trans-European highways of the sky to ensure smoother air traffic (see EUROPE 11633).
