10/11/2016 (Agence Europe) – The EU and Iran held a second meeting of the High Level Political Dialogue in Brussels on Wednesday 9 November. The European External Action Service announced this news on Wednesday evening in a press release. During the dialogue, headed by the EEAS secretary-general, Helga Schmid, and the Iranian deputy foreign minister, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, subjects included bilateral questions such as trade, energy, the environment, and migration. Regional challenges such as the situations in Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan and Lebanon were also discussed. The EEAS explained that the first exploratory talks on human rights were also being held at the same time, which are an integral part of the political dialogue. Finally, another meeting brought together European Commission representatives and those from the Iranian Central Bank. (CG)
