Commission opinion on patentability of living organisms deemed positive

A number of organisations, including the No Patents on Seeds coalition, European Coordination Via Campesina and the European Seed Association (ESA) have welcomed the clarification given by the European Commission on 3 November on patents on plants and animals obtained by biological processes of selection (see EUROPE 11422).
