07/11/2016 (Agence Europe) – European Commissioner for Education Tibor Navracsics has once again denied his participation in a campaign to attempt to unravel the European refugee relocation plan. Shortly after the Hungarian referendum on the European refugee distribution plan, Navracsics had said that “the Union cannot make decisions that involve Hungary without the consent of the Hungarian Parliament” (see EUROPE 11641). Addressing the press on Monday 7 November, during his presentation of an education report, he stated that he was not talking about the relocation mechanism but about the Hungarian decision-making process. “The question of the referendum is a question relating to a domestic process. There are stricter limits in other countries. I only gave an answer on the question of the referendum, whilst keeping my distance from the campaign”. (SPj)
