25/10/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 25 October, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini denounced the deadly attack during Monday night 24 October and Tuesday 25 October on a police training centre in Quetta, south west Pakistan. Responsibility for this attack was claimed by so-called Islamic State. At least 60 people were killed and around 100 were injured. In her press release, the Mogherini stated: "This attack underlines the continuing threat posed by terrorism and the need for strong international cooperation in the fight against it, in Pakistan, the wider region and beyond". The European Union will continue to work closely with Pakistan to fight the global threat of terrorism, Mogherini added. (CG)
