EU and South-East Asia aiming at a strategic partnership

In Bangkok on 13 and 14 October, the foreign ministers of the EU and ASEAN (Burma/Myanmar, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) decided to accelerate work on a strategic partnership for bilateral relations, boosting cooperation in the usual domains (trade, connectivity, development, energy and research) but also on security policy, as they explained in a joint statement.
