13/10/2016 (Agence Europe) – President Petro Poroshenko of Ukraine, Vladimir Putin of Russia, François Hollande of France and German Chancellor Angela Merkel could meet very soon in Berlin, the French President’s office has announced. In the course of a telephone conversation, Merkel, Hollande and Putin “worked on the arrangements for a Normandy format summit that could take place very soon in Berlin”, the Elysée said in a press release, without, however, giving any date. The three leaders “agreed that a meeting of this kind had to be constructive and useful in seeking resolution of the crisis in eastern Ukraine” added the French Presidency. According to the Ukrainian President’s office, Merkel and Hollande will speak to Poroshenko by telephone “next week”. (CG)
