13/10/2016 (Agence Europe) – During a joint meeting on Wednesday 12 October, members of the Committee of the Regions' committee for territorial cohesion policy and the EU budget (COTER) and MEPs from the European Parliament's regional policy committee (REGI) launched an appeal for cohesion policy to focus more attention on the results. During their discussions, speakers highlighted increasing disparities between the regions and the fact that the impact of cohesion policy varied significantly from one member state to another. These conclusions were also drawn up in a balance sheet on cohesion policy. One source close to the dossier informed EUROPE that the mistake made until now mainly involved focusing on absorption rates rather than the results of the operational programmes (see EUROPE 11641).
