'Agriculture and Fisheries' Council (and 11/10). *Fisheries: fishing possibilities in the Baltic Sea to 2017; - exchange of views on annual consultations between the EU and Norway; - discussions on the annual meeting of ICCAT to be held in Portugal from 14 to 21 November. *Agriculture: - simplification of the rules of the CAP (proposed 'omnibus' regulation); - situation on the main agricultural markets and support measures; - presentation by the Commission of the prospects for the sugar sector; - greening of agricultural aid; - proposal to make animal welfare an obligatory investment criterion for international financial institutions.

Activities of the committees. - IMCO: debate on tightening up the regulation on the cooperation for consumer protection (e-commerce package). – PETI: public hearing on petitions to fight obstacles to the freedom of movement and employment within the single market. – CULT: meeting of an inter-parliamentary committee to discuss possibilities of developing cultural and creative sectors within the EU. – TRAN: public hearing on problems related to noise caused by various modes of transport and ways to fight this noise pollution. – FEMM: public hearing to feed into the forthcoming non-legislative report on EU funds for gender equality. – BUDG: adoption of the negotiating position of the European Parliament with the Council on the 2017 budget. – AFET-DEVE: naming the finalists for the Sakharov Prize.
