23/09/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 23 September, the first anniversary of their adoption, WWF deplored the lack of progress in implementing the 2030 sustainable development goals (SDG) goals. It also urged the European Commission to present its strategy swiftly for integrating the SDG into all EU policies. "The [Sustainable Development] Agenda’s first birthday cake is only half-baked: key ingredients are missing. Every policy area must be included in the recipe for a truly sustainable Europe, and its three main flavours should be inclusiveness, equality and sustainability. EU citizens are counting on the European Commission to get the recipe right and rapidly provide an inclusive, over-arching strategy for a sustainable Europe”, said Geneviève Pons, Director of WWF European Policy Office. A birthday card was sent to MEPs and the commissioners to relay this message. (AN)
