20/09/2016 (Agernce Europe) – Eurostat, the European statistical office, put a publication online on Tuesday 20 September to shed light on the energy situation in the EU and make the complex process from extraction to final consumption easier to understand. The publication, Shedding Light on Energy in the EU – a guided tour of energy statistics, (Ed: available for the moment only in English) “will serve in particular those who would like to better understand the challenges faced by the Energy Union”, Eurostat says. It comprises four parts or blocks of questions most often asked by citizens. What is the Energy Union about? Where does our energy come from? Which kind of energy do we consume and how much does it cost? What are the links between energy and the environment?
