Commission approves new Greek PGI

15/09/2016 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Thursday 15 September that it had approved the request for inclusion of the Greek product “Fava Feneou” in the register of protected geographical indications (PGI).  Fava Feneou is the dried seeds of Lathyrus sativus (grass pea), ground or cooked into a thick puree, a preparation known as“fava”.  Production and cultivation of this product is mainly on the Feneos and Stymfalia plateaux, in the prefecture of...
