Stating that Turkey had “once again” suffered a terrorist attack, claiming the lives of at least 11 people and injuring some further 30, in the historic district of Istanbul on Tuesday 7 June, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service reiterated the “continuing solidarity” of the EU with “Turkey, its government and its people”. “We … reaffirm our commitment to work closely together to fight the global threat of terrorism”, the spokesperson said.
