07/06/2016 (Agence Europe) - EU condemns latest terrorist attack. Stating that Turkey had “once again” suffered a terrorist attack, claiming the lives of at least 11 people and injuring some further 30, in the historic district of Istanbul on Tuesday 7 June, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service reiterated the “continuing solidarity” of the EU with “Turkey, its government and its people”. “We … reaffirm our commitment to work closely together to fight the global threat of terrorism”, the spokesperson said. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held the Kurdish rebels of the PKK responsible for the bomb attack directed at police vehicles. (CG)
