08/04/2016 (Agence Europe) - More than 130 countries say they will attend ceremony in New York on 22 April. More than 130 countries have announced that they will send representatives to the ceremony to sign the Paris Agreement in New York on 22 April in New York, announced the United Nations on Wednesday 7 April. A total of 195 countries signed the first global climate deal at the COP21, so 130 is a good proportion of them since the deal is open for signature until 21 April 2017. To stimulate the event, which coincides with Earth Day, the Secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Earth Day network have launched a campaign, 'Trees for the Earth.' Everyone is invited to plant, hug or draw a tree before 22 April and publish their work on Facebook or Twitter with hashtags #AccordDeParis #trees4earth. Earth Day is devoted to trees this year to encourage the planting of seven billion trees by 2020. (AN)
