Brussels, 08/03/2016 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 7 April, the European Commission suggested providing `€5.1 million from the European Globalisation Fund (EGF) to help 2,132 former workers from road haulage company MoryGlobal SAS in France find work.
The EGM cofinances measures to help workers find a new job and will be mobilised under the clause on the consequences of the financial and economic crisis that has had a deep impact on the road transport sector. The total cost of the measures for the redundant MoryGlobal SAS workers is estimated by the French government at €8.5 million, of which the EGF would provide €5.1 million to finance the provision of counselling and guidance by a team of expert consultants for all the redundant workers. The proposals now go to the European Parliament and the EU Council of Ministers. (Original version in French by Maëlle Didion, intern)
