09/12/2015 (Agence Europe) - Part revision by Volkswagen of under-estimated CO2 emissions from some models. A month after the statements by Volkswagen on under-estimations of CO2 emissions by some of its models (see EUROPE 11424), the German group finally announced on Wednesday 9 December that, for most of those models, the CO2 figures correspond with initially indicated figures. “This means that these vehicles can be marketed and sold without any limitations”, said Volkswagen in a press release. These results come after an in-depth investigation and will be checked by a “neutral technical service” under the supervision of the appropriate authority by Christmas. Thus the €2 billion cost calculated by the group will be avoided since the vehicles on which deviations have been found correspond to around only 0.5% of the volume of the Volkswagen brand. (PH)
