09/12/2015 (Agence Europe) - Kabul's reforms commitments are crucial for international support. On Wednesday 9 December, the deputy secretary general of the European External Action Service (EEAS) Helga Schmidt, the US deputy secretary of state Antony Blinken and the Afghan minister for foreign affairs Salahuddin Rabbani met in Islamabad, Pakistan. Their discussions focused on preparations for the NATO summit in Warsaw in July 2016, and the donors' conference for Afghanistan, which will take place in Brussels in October 2016 (see EUROPE 11445). “Progress on these Afghan reform commitments is crucial to enabling the donor community to extend extraordinary commitments of security and development assistance to Afghanistan”, they stated in a joint press release.
