24/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - TTIP talks to be stepped up at technical level. During their meeting in Washington on Tuesday 22 September, European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström and US Trade Representative Mike Froman agreed to accelerate the EU-US free trade (TTIP) negotiations, the Commission states in a press release on 23 September. “To give an additional boost to the talks, contacts between negotiating teams will be intensified (…) We will instruct our negotiators to exercise creativity and flexibility in order to achieve progress in all areas”, Malmström said. The 11th round of technical level negotiations, which is to be held in the US in October, will be supplemented by a number of technical talks between sessions, the Commission states. (EH)
