Brussels, 11/03/2015 (Agence Europe) - The European Union has offered its support to Tunisia for the protection of its land and sea borders.
The head of the European delegation in Tunis, Laura Baeza, delivered this message to Tunisia's minister for defence, Farhat Horchani, on Monday 9 March. The EU calls for “Tunisia's needs to be identified so as to guarantee the stability of its borders and those of the region”, local Tunisian media state. The goal is to guarantee the security of borders, which currently allow terrorism and the trafficking of migrants to filter through. In a press release, Farhat Horchani says he wants a “comprehensive approach” including the economic, social and cultural dimensions, and the need to develop border areas. (Fathi B'Chir)
