SECTORAL POLICIES / (ae) internal market

07/07/2014 (Agence Europe) - Business registers. Business registers will now have to make data on limited liability companies available within 21 days of the companies being created. The European directive on business registers (2014/17/EU) entered into force on 7 July - after member states being given two years to ensure the directive's transposition into their own national legislation. In addition, in a year's time, the European Commission will have to present implementing acts for the establishment of a system of interconnecting business registers - as stipulated in this directive. The member states will still have two years to put their business register into the network. It will then be easier to have access to information on European companies via e-Justice or national portals. (MD)
