Brussels, 25/03/2014 (Agence Europe) - With the slogan “Get empowered, get employed”, the association Telecentre Europe is organising Get Online Week this week, with the support of the European Commission. This campaign specifically aims to help young unemployed people in the European Union to acquire the digital skills they need to find a job. “Digital skills are the new literacy (…). Today, it is about searching encoding. If you have a dream or a dream job, today you need unique digital skills”, said the European commissioner in charge of the digital strategy, Neelie Kroes. GOW (Get Online Week) runs from 24 to 30 March, with the involvement of some 5,000 ICT centres, which will offer practical workshops in several member states. (IL)
