Brussels, 25/03/2014 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has given the go-ahead to the acquisition of FEIH, an onshore wind-farm company, by GDF Suez, Predica Prévoyance (controlled by Crédit Agricole) and Omnes Capital, all of France. FEIH is currently wholly owned by GDF Suez and is active in the generation of electricity by wind farms. GDF Suez is active throughout the entire energy value chain in the fields of gas, electricity and energy services. Crédit Agricole offers a range of banking and insurance services and Omnes Capital is a French asset management company active in several branches of private equity, amongst them in the renewable energy sector. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns, because the overlaps between the parties' activities were very limited and strong competitors are active in the respective markets.
