25/03/2014 (Agence Europe) - EU28 adopts Copernicus. On Monday 24 March, the Council ratified (Point A at the Agriculture Council) the new name “Copernicus” for European Earth surveillance programme, as well as its revised regulation and budget of €3.79 billion for the 2014-2020 programming period. The first “Sentinel” satellite will be launched from the Kourou station in French Guyana during the evening of 3 April. (MD)
