Brussels, 12/02/2014 (Agence Europe) - MEPs are still working to ensure that 2016 is dedicated to the fight against violence against women. On Wednesday 12 February, an event on this subject took place at the European Parliament, led by EP Vice-President Isabelle Durant (Greens, Belgium), in cooperation with the European Women's Lobby. MEPs and visitors were invited to sign a banner depicting hundreds of coloured hands. These represent all the women in the world supporting the “One Billion Rising” campaign that is fighting to put a stop to violence against women and promote gender equality. The coloured banner signed by MEPs will be displayed on 14 February at the Palais de Justice in Brussels, during the annual “One billion Rising” day, which will be dedicated to justice for all in 2014.
