Brussels, 21/01/2014 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament's culture committee approved, on 21 January, the proposal for review of the 1993 directive governing the recovery of cultural property. It will thus become easier to recover cultural goods that have illegally left the territory of a member state thanks to more flexible and less costly procedures. Also, the transposition of provisions into national bodies of law will be more consistent.
