Brussels, 26/03/2013 (Agence Europe) - Our sources suggest that on Wednesday 27 March 2013, the European Commission will unveil a draft amending budget for 2013 for a further €11billion in payment appropriations (see EUROPE 10814), which will be submitted to the European Parliament and EU Council of Ministers. This amount is eauivalent to 8.5% of the total budget for 2013 (€132.84 billion in payment appropriations). The €11 billion will wipe out the expenditure margins and most of it will be used to cover payment requests for cohesion policy projects. It is estimated that some €17.5 billion in unpaid invoices have been carried forward from 2012. (LC/transl.fl)
