Familiarising European SMEs with international cooperation

Brussels, 27/11/2012 (Agence Europe) - EU Industry and Entrepreneurship Commissioner Antonio Tajani arrived in Tunisia from Morocco on 27 November following a tour of the United States, Mexico, Colombia and Egypt which aims to raise awareness among small businesses in Europe of the overseas market.

In Tunisia, alongside meetings with the government, he and a delegation of European business leaders will be attending the annual Tunisian business and technology forum (CAT 2012) that starts on 28 November. The Commission says the aim of the visit is to send a strong political signal about the importance to Europe of its industrial and economic relations with Tunisia.

Three aims are being pursued, namely: promoting inclusive, sustainable growth; helping businesses, especially small business in Europe, to expand abroad by using the business opportunities available in Tunisia; and promoting industry in key sectors by attending networking events for European and Tunisian entrepreneurs.
