Capital of culture 2008 - Valletta wins honour

Brussels, 15/10/2012 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 15 October, the panel of independent experts recommended that the capital of Malta, Valletta, be one of the two European capitals of culture in 2018. The official appointment by the Council of Ministers of the EU will take place in May 2013. Valletta was the only Maltese city to lay claim to the title. The other capital of culture in 2008 will be in the Netherlands. The pre-selection phase will take place in November and the definitive choice...
