01/06/2012 (Agence Europe) - Commission closes Services Directive infringement proceedings against Greece. On Thursday 31 May, the European Commission decided to terminate the infringement proceedings against Greece for failing to fully transpose the Services Directive (2006/123/EC). Greece has notified the Commission of the adoption of all necessary measures to transpose the Directive in full. However, the Commission says in a press release that it will check that the legislation has actually been implemented and reserves the right to open infringement proceedings should it not be applied correctly. The Commission points out that all member states have now officially transposed the Services Directive. (OL/transl.fl)
