22/11/2011 (Agence Europe) - Seamless pipes and tubes of stainless steel originating in the People's Republic of China. On 21 November, the European Commission presented the Council of the EU with a draft regulation to introduce a definitive anti-dumping law (EU Regulation: 627/2011) of 27 June, which imposes a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of certain seamless pipes and tubes of stainless steel originating in the People's Republic of China. In terms of its investigation, the Commission effectively concluded that dumping existed and was a cause for compensation. The provisional conclusions have overall been confirmed, notes the Commission, which also explained that very limited amendments to the provisional law (less than one percentage point) had been introduced to the level of dumping margins and compensation based and on subsequent levels of duties imposed. The Commission would like the Council to swiftly adopt a proposal and have it published on 29 December at the latest. The text for the proposal can be found at: http://www.eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=COM : 2011: 0775: FIN: EN: PDF. (OL/transl.fl)
