Brussels, 04/11/2011 (Agence Europe) - The International Road Transport Union (IRU) has said that variable costs, such as fuel, road taxes and tolls, should be passed on by road hauliers to clients. To better reflect the latest economic, legal and contractual developments in hauliers' operating environment, the IRU has revised its General Conditions for International Carriage of Goods. These general conditions consist of informed advice for road hauliers. Points related to insurance, safety and the use of electronic consignment notes in customs declarations have also been revised.
At the IRU General Assembly on Friday 4 November, current President, Janusz Lacny, was re-appointed for the period from 2012 to 2013. (MD/transl.rt)
