Hidden ECB footnote on Stability and Growth pact

Brussels, 22/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - The devil is in the detail and the European Central Bank has added a footnote to the report by the taskforce on economic governance (see above) stating that the president of the ECB does not agree with all the elements in this report. The ECB president, Jean-Claude Trichet, does not appreciate the fact that member states are trying to weaken the automatic triggering of penalties.
