01/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 30 September, Frenchman Jean-Paul Bailly succeeded German Jürgen Creutzig as President of the European Council for Motor Trades and Repairs (CECRA). Former CECRA Vice-President and current Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Bailly Group Holding, Bailly was unanimously elected by the CECRA General Meeting. With connections, too, to the Peugeot group (he is inter alia Honorary President and Chairman of the WiseMen Council to the French Peugeot Dealership Council [GCAP], and a founder of the European Peugeot Dealership Council [AECP]), Bailly says he has long been convinced that the future of CECRA lies with Europe. In his inaugural speech, he said that he intended to re-centre the work of CECRA to concentrate on “European lobbying” and to develop contacts with ACEA (European Automobile Manufacturers' Association).
